Discovery Time

We made some very cute finger puppets today during discovery time.

Having fun with repeating patterns!

Can you see the pattern we made with our bodies?
If another person joined in, what would they do to keep the pattern going-do you think they would be sitting or lying down?

                                                         Algebra is fun!

HABITATS

  • We wanted to find out some information about our animal and it's habitat:
  • What does it eat?
  • Does it face any dangers in it's habitat?
  • How has my animal adapted to survive in it's habitat?
  • What is it like in my animals habitat?

I am really proud of the way you worked together in your groups to find the information and present it to the class.
Super job Room 10!

Algebra

We are learning about Algebra in Maths. We know that algebra is about making patterns. We worked together to make a repeating pattern.

Nice team work Room 10, and I enjoyed listening to you telling me about your pattern

Gymnastics

Balancing with our eyes closed is much harder than it looks!

We are learning new words in gymnastics-can you tell your family what this position is?

Well done Room 10, you are looking great in your front support position.

Orchestra Performance

We were so lucky to have this orchestra from Auckland University come to our school to perform. Do you recognise any of these instruments?

The giant egg!

Samuel brought in this giant egg to share with the class. Some people thought the shell felt very cold and hard. We had to be very careful when we were holding it as it is very fragile! We compared the size of Samuel's egg with an egg from one of our school chickens. Can you guess what animal Samuel's egg comes from?

Maths with our buddy class-the tangram challenge!

After all that hard work, this is what we made!
We had to try a lot of different ways to fit our shapes together so that we could make this square. It was great working with our buddies from Room 23, thanks Mr Bennett. We look forward to our next buddy activity.

Pop Pop Popcorn!

It was a pop pop pop popcorn kind of day on Friday! First we decorated our boxes. Next we cut and folded our boxes, we had to think carefu...
