Hello little chick!

Mrs Johns took us to the Fale and we met the little chick that is living with Mrs Johns in the cottage.  We talked about what a little chick needs to be happy and healthy.  We were able to pat the chick (if we wanted to). It felt so soft!

The little chick followed the mother chicken.

We learned that the chick needs food to eat and water to drink.
We were all able to gently pat the chick if we wanted to.

Isla. Havana, Jack and Emme patted the chick and thought it felt very soft.

Shahid and Richard told us all about the life cycle of a chick.  They showed us a picture from their learning journal.  Thank you Mrs Johns, Shahid and Richard for bringing the chick to visit us today.

group work

We had fun this morning working on our repeating patterns. We worked in teams to make a repeating pattern with our coloured card. We worked really well doing team work and solving problems together.

working with clay

We read a story about Diwali. During Diwali little Divas are made to hold candles. We made our own little divas out of clay. We then painted a pattern on the outside. We love our little divas!
Rolling the clay into a ball was quite tricky as the clay was hard!

We dipped our fingers into water so that we could smooth over the cracks in the clay.

We made a hole in the middle of the ball with our thumb.

More fun with repeating patterns

We rolled different coloured plasticine into a repeating pattern.

Pop Pop Popcorn!

It was a pop pop pop popcorn kind of day on Friday! First we decorated our boxes. Next we cut and folded our boxes, we had to think carefu...
