Our Green Week wonder...............

We were wondering what our school chickens eat.
Some students from Room 6 came in and talked to us about what they feed the chickens.
We found out that they eat silverbeet, lettuce, corn and special pellets.

We went for a walk around our school gardens to see if we could find some of the vegetables the chickens eat. Look what we found!

We found some parsley

We found lots of silverbeet

We even found a little lettuce!

The chickens lay eggs-we had a look inside the chicken coup to see where they lay their  eggs.

Thank you girls for coming to talk to us about the chickens!

Green Week

Welcome to our first Green Week for 2017. We have one of these special weeks each term.

Rooms 2 and 3 have been wondering what our school chickens eat and we hope to find the answer to this during Green Week. We will also be taking a closer look at the gardens and outdoor environment within our school, as well as learning a bit more about our School Care Code.

Other events to watch our for are our wrapper free lunch box days-if your child has a wrapper free lunch their name will go into a draw for a special Green Week prize. There will be a book swap table in the mornings before school outside Rom 8, and on Thursday there will be our famous 'make and take' morning where students can make sandwiches for their lunch at a cost of $2.(hint: be at school early if you would like to do this)

Green Week finishes with Green Day on Friday, where all of our school community are encouraged to dress up in green!

We look forward to our first Green Week.

Pop Pop Popcorn!

It was a pop pop pop popcorn kind of day on Friday! First we decorated our boxes. Next we cut and folded our boxes, we had to think carefu...
