Book week

What a great week we have had!

We started our week off with a Whakatau to welcome Ida from her Maori Puna into our class.

The rest of the week was all about book week!

Ahoy there!

We are all about Pirates in Tuatahi this week.
We have been having fun working through lots of fun Pirate activities.

We dressed up and turned our playground into a pirate ship!

Matthew and Freddie made a cool pirate ship out of foam blocks.

More pirate fun outside.

This dot to dot made a picture of a pirate flag.

Tinomalu and Kanzus made a pirate ship out of magnetic blocks-they even made the sea with sharks!

Pirate Moses has spied a treasure chest!

We have also done some pirate writing, and made  cute pirates out of cardboard tubes and pirate boats out of other materials. Next time you are in Tuatahi, pop in and have a look!

We are having lots of fun being pirates, and we look forward to sharing some more of our pirate fun next week.

Huts and Leaves

We have enjoyed working together and making a hut this week with pegs and clamps.  It was also very interesting to use large leaves that Mrs Waddington had collected for our art work with pastels.  Look at the lovely patterns we created.  If you would like to see them they are hanging by the window near the writing corner.

We have been learning how to make our scales balance.
We tried using different materials to compare how many of each we needed to make our scales balance.
