We hope you managed to get outside and enjoy the fabulous weather in the weekend. On my walk around Cornwall Park I saw lots of baby lambs. 

I wonder what you noticed while you were out-did you make your name out of sticks and leaves?

Friday 3rd September

We are so impressed with all you wonderful learning this week and it has been fun learning together during our Google Meets.

Just a reminder that we won't see you today as Mrs Waddington and Philippa will be on their phonics course-we are doing some learning on line too!


Here are a few things you might like to do today and over the weekend.

It's Friday, so that means it's time for the Chicken Dance-have fun teaching your whanau.


Phonics

Take a walk around your garden or neighbourhood, and while you are out noticing things, see if you can say the beginning sound.

On my walk I might notice a tree ..... t-t-t-tree

I might pass a car......c-c-c-car

I hope to see a blossom.........b-b-b-blossom

See how many beginning sounds you can say for the things that you see.

Maths

We have been working hard on tally marks this week. Collect some sticks from outside and use them to make tally marks. Send me a photo showing the number you have made.


Finally, while you are out and about on your walk, collect some natures treasure and use it to write your name. Send me a photo of your creation!

Amara has been practising her writing.......

 Amara has done some fabulous writing. She has used our word of the week in a sentence.

We can see Amara has begun with a capital letter, has finger spaces between words, and has ended her sentence with a full stop.

Here is a counting song-it is about doubles!

Yesterday during our Google meet we practised using tally marks for counting the shapes.
Here is another counting sheet using tally marks. You must count how many of each colour chameleon there are, and then show that number in tally marks.
You can print the sheet out if you like, otherwise just use coloured pencils on your paper for each colour.
Have fun!

Pop Pop Popcorn!
