More measurement fun

We measured our feet using cubes. How many cubes do you think it took to measure our feet?
Here are some photos of some children busy measuring their feet and counting the cubes. We have made a display in Room 2 of our feet.

What am I?

We wrote some clues to describe our favourite zoo animals. Here is a video of us reading our clues. Can you guess what animals we are describing?
We have made a book out of our clues-next time you are in Room 2 pop in and have a read!

We are learning how to measure things. Today we used the words tall and short. We tried to line up in order of shortest to tallest.

Parineeti and Peter had a fun afternoon writing their names with playdough. They had to do a lot of rolling! Lovely Lau had fun rolling with them.

Maths Week

Welcome to Maths Week at Owairaka. You will have received a sheet of maths facts for your child to practise at home this week, along with a sponsorship form. Please feel free to chat with us if you are not sure what to do.

If you have time in the mornings, read the fun word problem that is posted outside Room 2 with your child, and see if they can find a way to solve the problem. Remember to come and whisper the answer in Mrs Getty's ear!

Biggest to Smallest

We are learning to order objects from biggest to smallest.  At Maths time today we used the scissors to cut out some different sized squares and then we glued them into our Maths books in order from biggest to smallest. Look at our wonderful work!
