Ramere 23rd Hepetema

 Morena Tuatahi

Kei te pehea koutou katoa-how are you all?

Did you know the Maori word for rain is ua.

Kei te heke te ua-it is raining

Listen to this short clip to hear Tane and Tarsha say kei te heke te ua.

Thank you for all your Manaakitanga during our Google Meet sessions, we are super impressed with every ones positive attitude and effort-kia ora mo o mahi!

Here is some learning for today.

Fitness

Here is something a bit different for today-enjoy!

Alphabet

What can you spy in the picture below that begins with the letter z?

Word of the week and writing
Here are some sentences using the word went. Have a go at reading them.
Now it's your turn to write some              sentences using the word went.
We would love to see a photo of your writing-send a photo to  pgetty@owairaka.school.nz

Reading
Today we are going to read another story based on Inky the Octopus, but it is written by a different author.
I wonder what things are the same in both books?
What parts of the story do you think are true and what parts of the story do you think are made up?
There is a lesson on how to draw Inky at the end of the story-a nice activity for an inside rainy day!

If you would like to find out some more about Inky, click on the links below:
article on Inky's escape

Now it's time to practise reading your sight words. I have put the charts up again today, with the links to the video if you would like those also.

Maths
We are going to carry on with our skip counting in 2's.

Inky is still hungry! He would like to eat some more fish.
Can you draw 6 more fish for Inky to eat by grouping them in twos-you will have 3 groups.
2    4   6
If you would like an extra challenge you could draw 16 fish for Inky to eat. I wonder how many groups of two you will have to make?
You can send a photo of your fish with the number underneath
pgetty@owairaka.school.nz

We hope you enjoy learning about Inky. If you did the drawing activity at the end of the Inky story, we would love to see a photo of it.

Kia pai to ra Tuatahi
Ka Kite
