Paraire 19th Noema

 Kia ora everyone

What a wonderful week we have had-the students of Tuatahi really have been superstars!

Watching the enjoyment everyone gained from reuniting with their class buddies, and slotting back into routines with such ease, has bought smiles to our faces. We are super proud of how everyone has readjusted back into school life, and we have loved seeing everyone.

 Morena Tuatahi

Kei te pehea koutou katoa-how are you all?

We want to say a huge thank you to you all for your mahi over the past few months.

It has been fun finding learning tasks for you to do at home, and even more fun seeing you everyday during our Google Meets. Thank you all for participating and contributing, and a huge thanks to the wonderful Tuatahi parents, because without your support at home, our home learning wouldn't have been as successful.

Today is our last blog post for online learning, as tomorrow Mrs Waddington and I are going to head into school to get our classroom all ready for Wednesday-yay!!

Here is some learning for today.

Fitness

Phonics

You are all getting very good at blending letter sounds together to read words.

Over the past few months we have also talked a lot about vowels-each of the words below has a vowel in the middle. Have a look at the sheet below to practise the vowel sounds.

You can practise your vowel sounds by singing along to the video below.

Here are some fun I spy sheets where you get to sound out the words below, and then look for that object in the I Spy sheet.

Word of the week and writing
Today we are going to re-visit one of the words we have already done, and then when you get back to school on Wednesday, we have some activities for you to do for went.

How quickly can you write went without looking at the word card?
Can you read the sentences below using the word went?
Now it's your turn to write a sentence using the word went.

Reading
Here are our magenta sight words-see how quickly you can read them. You may also like to have a go at reading the red words.

Listen to the author, Jenni Desmond, read her book The Blue Whale, it is a true story, it gives us information about a blue whale.
We call these books non-fiction.
If you would like to learn more about the blue whale, click on the video below.

You might like to draw a picture of the blue whale.

Maths
When you get back to school we are going to do some learning about finding half, which can also be written like this
  1/2

Have a look at this powerpoint to see what half of an something looks like.

You might like to ask someone in your whanau to help you find half of something. Maybe you could find half of an apple, or a piece of bread?
Good luck!

Kia pai to ra-have a great day Tuatahi and are so excited to see you soon!
