Stardome

Wednesday morning began with a class full of excited Tuatahi learners as we got ready for our trip to Stardome.
We were really excited to learn some more about space.

Here we are waiting for the bus to take us to the Stardome.

We loved the bus ride as we spent time looking out the window to spot trucks and buses and different houses-some of us also managed to sing 'The wheels on the bus....'

Here we are lining up to go into the Stardome
We met a teacher called Josh, who talked to us about the planets.
Did you know the sun is a star and it is made out of gas?
Did you know that it takes a whole year for the Earth to revolve around the sun?
These are just some of the things we learned at the Stardome.
Look at the enormous sun-the planets revolve around the sun.
Here are some of our learners lining up with the planets so they could show the distance between each one.

We have just finished our little quizz!

We even met some very special astronauts-do you recognise them?

We had a great morning at the Stardome and we found out a lot of interesting information about space and our solar system.
Have fun talking together about what information your learner discovered during our trip to Stardome.
