Our day began with an assembly in the hall which was decorated with the many flags represented in our school. Then we listened to greetings in the many different languages represented in our school. There were 30 children up the front to share their different greetings!
Then each class had an opportunity to walk across the stage to share their special clothing and costumes with the rest of the school.
We also sang a song together called "Under the Southern Skies"-you may have heard your children practising it at home, it sounded amazing when sung in assembly.
Tukaha bought a huge watermelon that he had grown in his garden for our shared lunch-yum, thanks Tukaha! |
Here is a photo of our beautiful Tuatahi children dressed in their special clothes on Cultural Unity Day.
